YouTuber Books Review

Being like any other 13-year-old girl living in the 21st century, the word 'YouTube' has been said at least a gazillion times since I've found the weird and wonderful website. Literally once you get your account and start subscribing to your favourite vloggers, gamers, musicians and beauty gurus, it becomes an addiction. If you are a part of the audience that helps these people grow successfully over the internet, you might be able to list about a hundred YouTubers on the spot without really thinking. The thing about YouTube is, that when someone/people get famous thanks to the internet, a lot of people will start to know who they are. This will increase their fanbase and thus, their own fandom/army is born, and if anyone is ever mean to them, their fandom/army will always be behind their back.

The main thing you need to realise is that some people have millions of subscribers to their channel, and their fans actually wait for their uploads. People like me dedicate their lives to watch some of their favourite YouTubers do some vlogging, a tutorial or playing a game. Becuase even though it does sound like a load of shit, it's what people in our generation do for entertainment - we come home from school, get on our laptops or phones, and go through our subscription box to see if our favourites have uploaded overnight. So, I guess considering that was your first introduction to this fascinating website filled with short films, crazy challenges and tutorials on pretty much anything, you'll probably want to know what I'll be doing for this blog post? And the answer to that is that we're going to be talking all about how successful these YouTubers became to be by taking a look at their books.

If you ever decide that you want to do youtube full time, depending on how large your audience is, you could be able to make a lot of money by putting advertisements of your videos. Say that every time and ad is played on a YouTuber's video, that YouTuber gets 10p. If that person also has one million followers and a good 300,000 see their videos daily, that person is likely to get a lot of money. That my friends is how youtube works. They put ads on their videos, or sometimes make paid advertisements for products, and earn so much money from it. Thus, this is how famous YouTubers like PewDiePie and Zoella were born, and their success has lead to many opportunities, like books.

NOW THAT I'VE EXPLAINED THE PROCESS LETS DO THIS BECAUSE ITS ABOUT 10 PM ON A MONDAY NIGHT AND I HAVE AN 'RE' TEST, I'M SUPPOSED TO BE REVISING BUT PROCRASTINATING. ANYWAY ENOUGH OF MY LIFE, LET'S DO THIS!

The Amazing Book Is Not On Fire
Author/s: Dan Howell and Phil Lester

Dan and Phil are two of the most popular YouTubers out there,  they're going to invite you on a journey inside their minds! From the stories of their actual births to exploring Phil’s teenage diary and all the reasons why Dan’s a fail. Learn how to draw the perfect cat whiskers, get advice on how to make YouTube videos and discover which of their dining chairs represents you emotionally. With everything from what they text each other to the time they met One Direction, and they told you what really happened in Vegas...

Honestly, not to be rude to the other YouTubers books out there, but something appealed to me when I first took a look at their book. From the brightly coloured scrapbook-like pages to the Tumblr aesthetic photos very time a new topic was told, and not forgetting all the cheeky references from all their videos online. Overall, something just sparked inside of me to love and cherish this book forever, which of course is what I'm going to do. This book is recommended to the fans of their videos, ranging from ages 8-18+, anyone can love these two giant dorks and the amazing book that they produced
.

A Work In Progress
Author: Connor Franta

Here, Connor offers a look at his Midwestern upbringing as one of four children in the home and one of five in the classroom; his struggles with identity, body image, and sexuality in his teen years; and his decision to finally pursue his creative and artistic passions in his early twenties, setting up his thrilling career as a YouTube personality, philanthropist, entrepreneur, and tastemaker. Exploring his past with insight and humour, his present with humility, and his future with hope, Connor reveals his private struggles while providing heartfelt words of wisdom for all ages. His words will resonate with anyone coming of age in the digital era, but at the core is a timeless message for people of all ages: don’t be afraid to be yourself and to go after what you truly want.

When I first heard about Connor making a book, I got so excited for loads of different reason. Connor is probably my favourite American YouTuber in the entire community of internet sensations, but in all honesty, I have no general idea why. I guess he's just very unique compared to other YouTubers on the site, he makes videos about himself but always has a moral at the end of them, to help his audience learn and to live in a much happier environment. Also the fact that he is literally a human embodiment of me - coffee lover, love for felines, can't get off Tumblr etc, just makes my love for him a whole lot stronger.

Binge
Author: Tyler Oakley

For someone who made a career out of over-sharing on the internet, Tyler Oakley has a shocking number of personal mishaps and shenanigans to reveal in his first book: he experienced a legitimate rage blackout in a Cheesecake Factory; he had a fashion stand-off with the White House secret service; he crashed a car in front of his entire high school in his fast food restaurant server's uniform; he projectile vomited while bartering with a grandmother. All in all, tyler's life had been one heck of a ride, and I believe it's time to tell his story through the best, the worst, and the just plain daring parts moments.

If you are a fan of youtube, you have probably heard of Tyler Oakley, the LGTB YouTuber who shares his best stories to his viewers. When I knew the plot of Tyler's book, I definitely knew it was going to be a great success considering how popular and hilarious Tyler's videos are on the internet. And of course, I wasn't wrong considering this comical book got a five-star rating and made his channel grow much more. I would  say that I wouldn't recommend this book to the faint hearted, or people who don't support the LGTB community.

USERNAME: EVIE
Author: Joe Sugg

Like anyone who feels as though they just don't fit in, Evie dreams of a place of safety. When times are tough, all she wants is a chance to escape from reality and be herself. Despite his failing health, Evie's father comes close to creating such a virtual idyll. Passing away before it's finished, he leaves her the key in the form of an app, and Evie finds herself transported to the world where the population is influenced by her personality. Everyone shines in her presence, until her devious cousin, Mallory, discovers the app... and the power to cause trouble in paradise.

I go to school with other YouTube obsessed girls, and the two they fangirl the most about are definitely roommates Joe Sugg and Caspar Lee. But this here is the marvelous work of Joe Sugg, he's one-half of the dynamic duo and is the younger brother of famous YouTuber and blogger Zoe Sugg or Zoella. And of course, when the news spread that he was releasing a book in September 2015, everyone went wild. Unlike other YouTuber books which are mostly autobiographies, Joe's is a full on Graphic Novel. Joe even let his fans decide the name of the main character name, Evie, which got them a lot more involved and a lot happier. This book is suitable for all ages of Joe's channel, some ranging from as young as 9-10 to about 18+, but all together, still an amazing story!

So that's it I guess, my first review books are finally over. I might do some more YouTuber Book Reviews if I ever add any more to my collection, or maybe if there's a product you want me to try, I'll give my honest opinion on it. Hopefully you're kind of getting the idea of this blog, and hopefully liking it!
